Weight manipulation in a cooperative society

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: An emergency team from the Supervision and Consumer Protection Sector at the Ministry of Commerce referred officials in charge of the fruits and vegetables section in a cooperative society to the concerned authorities for alleged manipulation of the weighing scale, reports Al-Qabas daily.

This came after a video clip went viral showing a customer buying fruits in the cooperative society during which he pointed out the alleged manipulation of the scale to add to the weight and price of the items he purchased.

Meanwhile, the cooperative society denied the allegation, indicating that the weighing scale was imported from a foreign company authorized to distribute the product locally and that other cooperatives are using the same scale.
