Water filters in schools polluted

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 20: Many parents have warned their children against drinking the water from chillers at their schools due to pollution of the filters, reports Al-Rai daily. The parents supported their claim by filming the dirty water with its rusty colored filters, which indicate the schools are inadequately prepared for the new academic year.

Educational experts disclosed it’s the responsibility of school administration and the Engineering Affairs Department to ensure that all filters are clean. They noted the administration of schools have since addressed Engineering Affairs Department to follow up the condition of the chillers in schools, adding the Ministry of Education allocated KD 150,000 for each educational zone to perform minor maintenance works.
