KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The Department of Residence Affairs in the six governorates is receiving violators of residence law to benefit from the amnesty issued by the Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah to rectify their status or leave the country without paying the penalties, reports Al-Anba daily.All departments in all governorates receive the violators of the law in the mornings during official working hours but the department in the Farwaniya governorate receives the violators in the evenings also on Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 to 7:00 pm for the benefit of the violators.The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior has urged the violators to take advantage of the amnesty.Meanwhile, the Sentences Enforcement Department headed by Major-General Faraj Al-Zua’bi, had issued orders last year to bar the exit of 10,000 people (Kuwaitis and expatriates) and also ordered their arrest for failing to honor their financial obligations to banks and companies, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a judicial source about 4,000 people have settled their dues.
