KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: The Criminal Court refrained from pronouncing judgment against a Kuwaiti lady who forged documents to receive social allowance from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The lady who lied about not having a husband received a total of KD 49,000 in allowances for her daughters, although she was married and didn’t deserve social allowance.

In her defense, Attorney Zaid Al-Khabbaz urged the court to acquit his client of all charges or at least refrain from punishing her on the charges filed by the Public Prosecution, which accused her of providing fake documents and manipulating the relevant employee to receive KD 49,000 in social allowance illegally.

Both on same boat: A lawyer was summoned for investigation after attending a court session to defend a citizen accused of falsifying his university certificate, reports Al-Qabas daily. Securitymen got suspicious of the lawyer as results of investigations showed he might be among those who hold false certificates. Apparently, the citizen and his lawyer are on the same boat and they need a lawyer to defend them.
