US arrests national accused of planning to join IS

WASHINGTON, Dec 16 (KUNA) — The US has arrested an American man suspected of having made plans to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group, the Department of Justice said on Monday.
Ahmad Khalil Elshazly, 22, was detained on Sunday in Conneticut before appearing today at a New Haven court.
In personal or internet conversations, he was alleged to have expressed the keenness to travel to Syria to join the terror group and had gone as far as saving USD 1,000 towards the endeavour
