KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Chairperson of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Committee in the Consumers Cooperative Society Union Fuhaid Al-Hatitah has called on Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Subaih and officials in the Public Authority for Manpower to allow the employees in cooperative societies to transfer to the private sector and for the national manpower to move within the cooperative societies, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Hatitah pointed out some employees encounter difficulties when they want to transfer, if they remain in the same cooperative society.

He affirmed the union plays a distinguished role in supporting national manpower through coordination with the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP). This program helps in assigning citizens to cooperative societies as per their manpower need, while taking into consideration the qualifications and expertise of the citizens, he added.

He stressed the importance of allowing employees to transfer from the cooperative society to the private sector even if they have to pay certain fees similar to those under government contracts. He also suggested allowing the national manpower to transfer to other cooperative societies, asserting all these steps will be in the interest of consumers and shareholders.
