UAE announces three-day mourning for passing of Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed – Amir sends condolences

ABU DHABI, Nov 18 (KUNA) — UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan eulogized his brother and personal representative, Sheikh Sultan, who passed away on Monday.
Ministry of the Presidency announced in a statement a three-day morning with flags at half mast, official media reported.
Born in 1955, Sheikh Sultan, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan’s second son, was deputy Prime Minister, head of Abu Dhabi’s government works department, general commander of armed forces, deputy commander of Abu Dhabi defense force and commander of the western military zone.
Sheikh Sultan was known for his passion for heritage and traditional sports.
President Sheikh Khalifa appointed Sheikh Sultan as his personal representative in 2009

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of condolence to the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressing sincere sorrow for the passing of his brother Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the head of state’s representative.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables.
