ABU DHABI, March 19 (KUNA) -- UAE's Ministry of health said Thursday 27 new coronavirus cases have been registered in the country to raise the total number to 140.
Dr. Farida Al-Hoseni, head of the Infectioius Diseases at the ministry, told a news conference five persons recovered to increase number of cured people to 31.
She said most of the infectees were either coming from other countries or came in close contact with already infected persons.
Al-Hoseni said the UAE adopted a set of measures to confront spread of the virus, including suspension of air travel to a number of countries, halting entry visas and banning entry of expatriates with valid residencies.
She said people entering the UAE would be subjected to home quarantine.
