KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: Detectives from Jahra Criminal Investigation Department arrested two persons — an Egyptian identified as Imad Eddin Barakat and an Iranian identified as Mohsen Nematallah, both of them are 35-years-old — for stealing two tons of cables from a warehouse in Mina Abdullah. In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry disclosed the detectives, who were on night duty in Amghara, got suspicious when they noticed a trailer truck loaded with cables.

The detectives asked the driver (Egyptian) about the cables and he said they belong to the Iranian who said he has documents to confirm this, but he denied it later claiming the Egyptian tried to sell the cables to him.

Intensive investigations revealed the cables are marked with ‘MOC’, hence, the discovery that they belong to the Ministry of Communications. It became clear later that the cables were stolen from the warehouse of a company, which has a contract with the ministry, in Mina Abdullah. The thieves were referred to the relevant security department for legal action.
