KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29, (KUNA): Two Kuwaiti international referees, Walid Al-Marshad and Faraj Al-Fadhil, are due to participate in Taekwondo World Championship for the disabled, which kicks off in Russia next Friday.

The two-day tournament, which will bring together most known international players of Taekwondo with special needs, is considered so important that it comes ahead of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Al-Marshad said in a statement to KUNA on Tuesday.

Al-Marshad added “this tournament will bring players who suffer amputation or disability in one or both hands, and will be different from other regular Taekwondo tournaments.” The referee noted that he and his colleague will also take part in a legal training course on the game, two days before the start of the tournament.

The nomination of the two referees came after refereeing in a recent international tournament held in South Korea.
