KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: Public Relations and Security Media Department announced in a press statement that the General Department for Residential Affairs Investigations, in cooperation with Manpower Public Authority, arrested a Kuwaiti citizen and an Arab expatriate for falsifying the estimation of the labor need of a company affiliated to the Labor Department of Capital Governorate. After conducting investigations, the two suspects were arrested.

The citizen explained that he reached an agreement with the owner of the company to issue residence permits for the company for which they would pay KD 80,000.

The ‘mandoob’ coordinated with one of the employees of Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to increase the estimation for the company’s labor need, which turned out to be a success as the company’s labor need was increased from 39 employees to 200. The scandal was discovered after the suspects issued 60 work permits for which they charged KD 1,500 each. Both suspects were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal measures against them.
