Two Egyptian ‘mandoubs’ provide 12 work visas

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: Police have arrested an Egyptian representative of a company for getting work visas for 12 persons in cooperation with a compatriot representative of another company without the knowledge of the sponsor, reports Al-Shahed daily. The arrest came after the owner of the company filed a complaint with the General Department of Residence Affairs. Two of the 12 persons on the company sponsorship — an Egyptian and an Iraqi — during interrogation admitted to paying money to two suspects. One suspect is in custody of the police while the other is said to have left the country. According to information most of the transactions were carried out at the Labor Department of the Capital Province. A case of forgery has been registered at the Shuwaikh Industrial Area Police Station.

Docus forged: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested two people — a Syrian and an Egyptian — for forging salary and work permits certificates to help the owners of these certificates to apply for bank loans, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspects were picked up from a café while attempting to help a police agent to help him get a bank loan with the help of forged documents. ❑ ❑ ❑ Blogger arrested: State Security police have arrested a ‘blogger’ for posting fabricated reports and rumors on his fake account, reports Al-Shahed daily. A security source said the tweets were posted days ago on ‘Twitter’ and some reports talked about explosives which have sparked confusion among citizens and residents. The arrest came after the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid issued instructions to the State Security agency to track those tweets. The source said the Twitter user was picked up from his home in Jahra and during interrogation he admitted to the charges filed against him. He has been handed over to the authorities for further interrogation.
