KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The Petitions Circuit at the Court of First Instance has canceled travel ban imposed on a Kuwaiti man over KD45,600 debt. At the court session, Lawyer Nawaf Al-Muhanadi, in defense of the defaulter said his client is a Kuwaiti and there should not be any fear of him fleeing the country. He said the petitioner did not clarify ability of the respondent to pay the debt.
He explained that travel ban is a precautionary measure rather than means of forcing a sword on the neck of the debtor. Therefore, it’s only necessary when strong reasons are presented on a possible escape of the debtor
