Syrian girl sexually harassed by Egyptian – Three gangs caught robbing groceries, expats

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested for harassing a 23-year old Syrian girl by sending her love-themed pictures on her mobile phone, calling her multiple times from different mobile numbers and requesting her to have an illicit affair with him.

According to security sources, when the girl lodged a case against an unknown individual who has been harassing her via mobile phone, securitymen tracked the number and discovered that it belongs to an Egyptian employee of a company. When they arrested him and questioned him, he revealed that he wants to marry her. A case was registered against him and necessary action was taken.

Meanwhile, an unknown individual spoke to a Filipina woman in an indecent manner and tried to touch her inappropriately when she was walking near Salmiya Cooperative Society. When she shouted for help, he escaped.

Robbers gangs nabbed Personnel from the General Department for Criminal Investigation, Farwaniya, have arrested three different gangs – three Kuwaitis, three bedoun and three Egyptians – for robbing expatriates and breaking into groceries, reports Al-Jaridah daily.

The arrests came following several complaints filed by some Asians reporting theft of their money and personal belongings. All of them complained the thieves said they were police. The daily added, the gangs were arrested at a late hour from Khaitan and Farwaniya. It has been said they were operating under the cover of darkness and at lonely places. During interrogation they have admitted to committing 61 thefts in Farwaniya and Hawalli, 50 of them groceries. Investigations with the suspects are continuing.

Security crackdown: A security campaign held in Salwa area during which 51 traffic citations were issued, six individuals who were reported as absconding were arrested and two individuals were arrested in possession of 35 liquor bottles, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

The campaign was supervised by Hawally Security Director Major General Shihab Al-Shimmari and his deputy Brigadier Ali Al-Haimar, and it was led by Director of Operations Colonel Mohammad Mutlaq Al-Mutairi, his deputy Lieutenant Colonel Musaed Al-Enezi and Head of Patrol Department Major Hamad Al-Zuwair.

The campaign was part of with the efforts being exerted by Ministry of Interior to maintain security of the country and arrest the violators of law. The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
