Three Egyptians rob taxi drivers

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: The Hawally police have arrested three Egyptians for robbing taxi drivers, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after police received several complaints and conducted intensive investigations and managed to identify the suspects. They were picked from their homes in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Salwa and Sabah Al-Salem respectively. The suspects at first denied the charges against them but after they were picked from a police lineup, they admitted to committing five crimes.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two expatriates for assaulting the caretaker of residential building, reports Al-Anba daily. The arrest came after one of the tenants whose child he was taking to the school bus waited for the caretaker and when the latter did not come on time, he went to check his whereabouts and saw him badly beaten lying on the floor of his room. The man was rushed to the Farwaniya Hospital and during interrogation he gave police the names of the suspects, who are believed to be his friends. When the friends were arrested, they told police the man had borrowed KD 900 from them and did not pay back.
