KUWAIT CITY, May 14: The Misdemeanors Court has sentenced three Egyptian doctors to jail terms ranging from six months to one year and ordered each of them to pay the plaintiff KD 5,001 temporary compensation for their mistake which resulted in the death of a female patient, reports Al-Rai daily.

Attorney Mishari Al-Rawi, lawyer for the plaintiff said the victim was rushed to the Sabah Hospital after she felt severe pain in her stomach.

The doctors saw the patient screaming out of pain and realized she had taken medicine for diabetes. The doctors told the husband the health condition of the wife is normal and left her to attend to an ‘important’ personality.

After 7 hours the doctors returned and found the patient still in excruciating pain and took her to the intensive care unit for dialysis but could not do anything because her condition had deteriorated.

After four hours she died, and the medical report showed the doctors had failed to treat her in time. This is in addition to not following appropriate measures during the treatment.
