KUWAIT CITY, Feb 2: The curtain fell on the Fifth Arab Clubs Karate Championship, at the Yarmouk Club hall, which hosted the tournament. The tournament witnessed the participation of 150 male and female players from 17 clubs representing 8 Arab countries. The competitions started on Thursday.

The Secretary General of Yarmouk Club Fouad Fahd Al-Failakawi expressed his delight in hosting the Arab brothers. “The Board of Directors was keen to make all efforts, and to provide the best ways for a distinguished Arab championship technically and organizationally, and we are very proud of the great cooperation from the Arab Federation Karate and the participating Arab clubs, which helped us a lot in making the championship a success.” For his part, the Director of the UAE Arab Karate Federation, Mohammed Al Balushi, emphasized the good organization of the fifth edition of the Arab Championship, adding that the participating teams were divided into two groups, with the first and second of each group qualifying for the semi-fi- nals, as well as the case for individual competitions, and we witnessed strong competitions today.

A member of the Competitions Committee of the Arab Karate Federation of Saudi Arabia, Adnan Hamza, confirmed that the Arab Championship is the strongest and best from a technical point of view. and international championships. the head of the Referees Committee in the Arab Federation, Dr. Imad Al- Sarssi, indicated that the number of referees participating in the management of the championship matches reached 36 Arab and foreign referees, and he said: “We thank the Kuwait Karate Federation and the Board of Directors of the Yarmouk Club, and the Kuwaiti Referees Committee headed by Mansour Al-Sultan for the kind invitation. And the wonderful organization of the tournament, and a meeting was held for the participating referees before the start of the competitions, during which a simplified explanation of the law of the game was given, and the most important amendments that were made to the law of “kata” and “kumite” were highlighted in the new laws.
