KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: Police have arrested two Kuwaiti brothers – both teenagers – for harassing and raping three children during 2014 and 2015 and handed them over to the Juvenile Prosecution, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source told the daily the first incident was recorded in 2014 when the Egyptian parents filed a report accusing an unidentified person of kidnapping and molesting their daughter who was playing in the building compound where they live.

The second similar complaint involved a Tunisian girl and the third an Egyptian child. Both these incidents were recorded in 2015.

A security source said these three incidents forced the Ahmadi police to form a special force to arrest the suspects upon directives issued by the Assistant Director-General of Criminal Investigation of the Ahmadi Governorate Brigadier Mohammad Al-Sharhan.

One of the suspects is believed to be 18 years old and the other 16.

The daily added, after police suspected the duo, they were put under surveillance and caught one of them three days ago while attempting to attract the attention of two children.

During interrogation one of the brothers admitted to committing the crime and gave police the name of his brother.

The daily added, the samples taken from the two suspects match the evidence samples taken from the victims.

Corpse found in sea: The Egyptian fishermen fishing off the Ouha Island have found the decomposed remains of an unidentified person while fishing in the area, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources the corpse may be of an Iranian sailor who along with others had attacked the Egyptian fishermen in the area about two weeks ago.

The corpse was reportedly entangled in the net and after the find the fishermen alerted the Interior Ministry personnel and the Kuwait Coast Guard. The remains have been referred to the Criminal Evidences Department.

Indian dies in mishap: The remains of an unidentified Indian who died after his vehicle overturned in Mina Abdullah have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to sources, the man lost control of his vehicle and he died on the spot. However, police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Bag-snatchers held: Police have arrested two persons — a Jordanian and a Syrian – riding a motorbike for robbing people, mainly women by snatching their handbags, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The arrest came after police received several complaints. Investigations conducted by police led to identifying the thieves.

They were arrested in Hawalli. Police have recovered part of the loot from their homes.

Sister assaulted: Police have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti for breaking into the home of his sister, assaulting her and attempting to steal her jewelry, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the security sources the suspect is a former convict and has spent time behind bars. The main reason for the incident is believed to be a family conflict.

The arrest came after the sister informed the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior that her addict brother had broke into her home and assaulted her.
