Syrian ‘Detainee’ attempts suicide

KUWAIT CITY, April 5: A Syrian expatriate attempted to commit suicide using a plastic fork while he was detained in Nugra Police Station. According to security sources, the suspect was arrested because he had violated the residency law and he was detained at the police station for eventual referral to the concerned authorities.

While at the police station, he tried to cut his wrist using a plastic fork but securitymen stopped him and took him to Mubarak Hospital for treating the injury. A case was registered against him.

Meanwhile, an Asian woman tried to commit suicide by consuming cleaning solution inside her sponsor’s house in Firdous area. She was referred to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause for her suicide attempt.

Indian held for theft bid: Police officers manning vital installations managed to arrest an Indian man who tried to steal from a workshop in Ahmadi Port (Mina Ahmadi), reports Al-Seyassah daily. Security sources said the offi cers seized from the suspect keys to a compartment of the workshop. He was referred to the concerned authority, alongside the items he stole.
