Swooping Eagles upset UNIMONI as Falcon Cargo tame IBL Tigers

Balagat tops Ladies Class B Individual High Game

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 29: Another setback faced UNIMONI Exchange after losing the game against the Swooping Eagles 2,790-2,931, Falcon Int’l Cargo tamed the IBL Tigers throughout their match 3,030-2,390 while N 10 MID8TORS shocked Jordan Elites despite losing two games 2,731-2,622 in the eleventh week of the 2019 Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait 33rd Anniversary Cup-Tenpin Bowling League elimination round being held at the Kuwait Bowling Sporting Club Complex in Salmiyah, Kuwait. Other teams that recorded wins over their rivals were KRAHS vs SKARZ 3,040-2,731, Al Qwassem vs GOAN Strikers 3,530-2,999, Asian Air Safari vs NUSANTARA 2,816-2,780 while ‘X’-Trikerz advance after playing bye.

Despite two consecutive two losses, UNIMONI Exchange kept their third spot in the rankings while Swooping Eagles’ two-game winning streak without their star lady bowler Myrah Manalo sustained the sixth position. In the first game of the collision, Swooping Eagles upset the Exchange specialists 943-866 but in the second game, through the combined strikes and spares of the fearless Ahmad Fadil Karam scored 246 points that overshadowed the 244 points of his rival Jessica Balagat and won the game 1,028-997. In the final round it was Riz Roque who scored 209 and piloted the Eagles for the win 966-896. Swooping Eagles top scorer was Jessica with her 558 pinfalls followed by Roque (550), Clinton Cathers (457), Alonzo Bush (431) and Benjie Roque (410) while UNIMONI’s top pointer was Ahmad (559), supported by Ruben Cervantes (527), Rashid Aker Ali (497), Rudy de Lima (446) and Alex Nodalo (400). The win-lose record were Swooping Eagles 6-5 while UNIMONI Exchange had 7-4 record.

Falcon Int’l Cargo slaughtered the 3-man team IBL Tigers throughout the three-game series 1,115-812, 935-770, 935-808. Falcon were able to recapture the ninth position and were just five marks shy of the cliff hangers N 10 MID8TORS and ten marks difference with the seventh placers ‘X’-Trikerz. Falcon’s high pointer was Melvin Alabado (569), supported by Adolfo Rreno (461), Erick Chang (360), Jess Tolentino (347), Imelda Calingasan (313), Christine Moreno (293) and John Narvasa (132) while IBL Tigers’ three courageous bowlers were Ulysses Menezes (456), Nadine Diaz (449) and Fatima Sequiera (389). Falcon had four wins and and seven losses while IBL Tigers registered five wins and six losses. It will be a close fight between Falcon Cargo, N 10 MID8TORS, NUSANTARA and ‘X’-Trikerz vying for the seventh and eight place with a slim chance for IBL Tigers and GOAN Strikers to join the fracas.

N 10 MID8TORS astounded the second placers Jordan Elites after the three-game series encounter with a 2,731-2,622 score. The N 10 MID8TORS ruled Jordan Elites 929-760 led by Luther Huling who scored 219 in their first game but in their second game, prolific scorer Ali Hikmat scored 255 and Ali Adel Khalil chipped in 202 points to defeat the N 10 MID8TORS 979-932. With 165 points advantage, the winning team remained fearless and were not intimidated by the superstars of the opposing team and still fielded lower class bowlers. Jordan Elites won the third game but with low output 883 against 845 of the N 10 MID8TORS. Finally, the score was in favor of N 10 MID8TORS with a record of seven wins and four losses while Jordan Elites had a 9-2 record. The victorious team big pointers were Kuther Huling (552 points), seconded by Husein Adnan (543) followed by Alma Turley (410), Desmond Coke (395), Lito Michael (260) and Daryll Armstrong (132) while Jordan Elites bowlers were Ali Hikmat (592), Ali Adel Khalil (549) Basma Ammar (439) and Yousef Waleed (422).

Asian Air Safari outscored the Indonesian team in the third game to snatch the victory with just eleven points. In the first game of the competition Asian Safari through the exquisite performance of Wahab Al Ali who scored 220 points won the game 950-905 result. But in the second game, NUSANTARA bounced back and outsmarted the Air Safari 951-869. In the third game, the Asian Air played consistently, Farid Gabriele with his 213 points, Wahab Ali contributed 213 and Sonia Mathews’ 191 to topple the Indonesian guys with a 972-924 result with total accumulated points of 2,816-2,780. Asian Air highest scorer was Wahab Al Ali (592), followed by Farid Gabriel (569), Sonia Mathews (537), Mohd Jassim Abdullah (519) and Mohammad Karam (455) while NUSANTARA’s bowlers were Abdul Rahman Abdullah (505), Mohammad Othman (472), Robert Opena (319), Ahmas Fahmi Husein (317), Joe Sto Domingo (284), Erlissa Gantosori (278) and Tanjung Gantosori (159). With the win-lose results both teams slide one step backward in the ranking. 

Although GOAN Strikers were butchered by the merciless Al Qwassem tribes 3,530-2,999 sweeping the three-game series 1,209-1,050, 1,131-1,020, 1,165-904. So far this is the highest score made by a single team capturing all the extra 175 points (game, bonus and win points). Unbelievably, the GOANs did not lose their courage and bravery that remained until the last sweat and blood spurt on the floor. The “Magnificent 5” of Al Qwassem were Ali Al Qassem (693) 226, 191, 276; Yacoub Al Shatti (671) 258, 231, 182; Ali Al Qattan (666) 197, 21, 256; Ali Jawli (627) 191, 213, 256 and Hassan Al Qassem (611), 258, 183, 170. For GOAN’s part, the top-notcher was Colin Eric Nelson who delivered 201, 235, 191 (627) followed by Vasant Harshan (527), Lloyd Fernandes (522), Brian Fernandes (481) and Samantha Fernandes (415). Al Qwassem had eight wins and three losses and remain the number one team while GOAN Strikers registered four win and seven losses. 

Finally, KRAHS team easily deposed the cellar dwellers SKARZ (3,040-2,675) after crushing and sweeping the scheduled 3-game series 985-909, 958-826, 1072-940. KRAHS climbed from fifth to fourth place and recorded six wins and five losses while SKARZ had one win and ten losses. Top scorer of the KRAHS team was Camilo Baker who scored 185, 212, 237 (634), assisted by Pilar Behbehani (506), Sam Behbehani (404), Eddie Pena (384), Moises Amahan (324), Rene Marzan (201) and Joel Tizon (147) while the SKARZ top player was Stephen Sequiera who played two games scoring 202 and 187, followed by Lionel Mendes (330), Diago Camilo (307), Ignatius Fernandes (279) Melwin Isaac (238), Solomon Moras (238), Fatima Fernandes (135), Roland Rebiero (114) and Kathy Fernandes (108). ‘X’-Trikerz played bye and helped themselves out as cliff hangers, resting in seventh place.

Individual Best Results: In the Individual High Game – Men’s Class A/O – Fadi Al Masri of Jordan Elites robbed Asian Air Safari’s Mohammad Karam (278-269); in Class B – Al Qwassem’s Saleh Faraj (279); in Class C – Jordan Elites’ Yousef Waleed (252); while in Ladies Division Class A – Asian Air Safari’s Neveen Wasel snatched from teammate Sonia Mathews (238-234) and in Class B – Swooping Eagles’ Jessica Balagat snatched from N 10 MID8TORS’ Alma Turley (244-213). In the Individual High Average, Men’s Class A/O – Al Qwassem’s Yacoub Al Shatti (220.2); Class B – Asian Air Safari’s Hussein Salman (198.7), also Class C – Jordan Elites’ Yousef Waleed (171.2) and in the Ladies Division, Class A – Swooping Eagles’ Myra Manalo (193.0) while in Class B – Alma Turley of N 10 MID8TORS (168.3).
