KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Three citizens, who were banned from entering the USA and detained for hours, returned to Kuwait recently, reports Al-Jareeda daily. They revealed the American authorities informed them that their names are on the blacklist and they are not allowed to enter the US for security reasons.
Speaking to the daily, one of the citizens – Mohammad Ashkanani – divulged details of what happened to him and his companions, Nasser Al- Nasser and Faisal Bahman, in America and Dubai. He said they cannot believe what happened to them when they arrived in the US, especially since he graduated from a university there and he visited the country four times on various visas. He added his two friends also traveled to the US twice, so they were shocked when the authorities there told them their visas are not valid.
He narrated that as soon as they arrived at the US airport, securitymen arrested them and referred them to the Investigation Office. “They isolated my friends during the lengthy investigation regarding reasons for the visit. They forced us to leave the country and choose another destination, so we decided to go to Dubai,” he said. The concerned authorities denied rumors that the American authorities found in their mobile phones several video clips and photos showing they are members of a terrorist organization. Ashkanani went on to say one of the investigators asked why he visited Iran, he then told him he is a Shiite Muslim and he usually visits holy places in Iran. He added the officials at Kuwait International Airport informed them that Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid is following up their case round the clock. He also praised the security authorities at Kuwait’s airport, affirming the security officers treated them well.
