Sulaibkhat Club win Al-Tahrir Al-Oula Boxing Championship

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: The Sulaibikhat Club’s Boxing Team have been crowned overall winners of Al-Tahrir Al-Oula Youth Boxing Championship after winning five gold and bronze medals, followed by Al-Jahra Club that clinched the second position with one gold and four silver medals, and Al-Qurain Club shared the third position with Al-Fahaheel with each winning one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

According to a press release, a total of 63 youthful boxers from 11 clubs participated in the championship and were distributed into ten different categories.

Board Chairman of Kuwait Boxing Federation Mohammad Mansi, Board Chairman of Al-Jahra Club Nawaf Jadid, and several board members of Kuwait Boxing Federation attended the closing ceremony.

In an address, Mansi applauded the participation of the clubs in the championship, saying the massive participation gave it the desired strong competitions in various categories.

He affirmed a brighter future for boxing in Kuwait, considering the commitment shown by all participant clubs.  Mansi stressed that the return of Al-Jahra to the boxing events after a long break and taking the second position is an indication that the club will improve for better.

He expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to Al-Jahra Club for hosting the first championship in 2019/2020 season.
