Stranded students need help to return

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: The Ministry of Education has sought the help of the Ministry of Interior to to help enter about 200 students into the country – students who are stranded in their respective countries due to Covid-19 situation – to help them answer their written exams since the second round of exams to the Grade 12 students begin next Sunday, reports Al- Jarida daily quoting education sources.

The sources said Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ali Al- Yaqoub has submitted a list of students (complete with names of their countries) to his Interior counterpart, after getting a nod from the Council of Ministers to expedite their return. He pointed out the parents of the stranded students are in limbo for several reasons such as difficulty in obtaining the high-price tickets in addition to the lack of clarity regarding the quarantine period if and when these students enter the country
