Maid attempts suicide: An Asian housemaid tried to commit suicide by drinking pesticide in the house of her sponsor in Qurain, says Al-Seyassah. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received information from a Kuwaiti woman who said she found her housemaid lying unconscious in the kitchen. The housemaid was admitted to Adan Hospital and she is now confined at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). During interrogation, the sponsor told officers that she hired the housemaid through a domestic labor agency two months ago and she does not know anything about the housemaid’s circumstances which might have prompted her to try to end her own life. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to shed light on the circumstances leading to the suicide attempt.
