Sri Lankan gets death in ‘planned’ murder of wife; Woman forgets snake in taxi?

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Waleed Al-Kandari has sentenced a Sri Lankan to death by hanging for the premeditated murder of his wife, reports Al-Anba daily. According to case papers, the suspect and the victim were involved in disputes and the former decided to get rid of her. He reportedly punched a hole in the hose of the cooking gas cylinder and the gas leaked to the entire kitchen and subsequent explosion killed the wife and another woman. The suspect then reportedly inflicted burns on his body to hide the crime. It has also been reported the suspect doused kerosene on his wife, and he admitted this during interrogations.

Snake in bag?: A Kuwaiti woman reportedly forgot a 2-meter long snake inside a taxi before she boarded a flight to Kuwait from the Cairo International Airport, reports Al-Rai daily. Egyptian security sources said a taxi driver handed over a bag which the passenger had left behind to the tourism police. After opening the bag, police found inside the bag a heavily drugged reptile.
