Spike in coronavirus infection, 1,015 infected; 8 dead

KUWAIT, Feb 23: Kuwait said 1,015 people tested positive for coronavirus with 8 related deaths reported on Tuesday taking the total cases up to 186,004 as deaths rose to 1,057 respectively, according to the health ministry.

The ministry also reported that 906 more people have been cured of the virus, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 174,088, spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told a press conference.

The number of people hospitalised with the virus currently stands at 10,859, with 146 of them in intensive care units, he added, revealing that some 8,221 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,746,776.
