KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Social media users shared a video clip showing a schoolboy being severely beaten inside a school bus, reports Al-Anba daily.
A Kuwaiti woman who posted the video clip described the scene as “heartbreaking.” The woman added in a separate audio comment on the clip that while she was accompanying her children to school in the morning, she accidentally saw a female supervisor of a school bus in Sabah Al-Salem beating a schoolboy in a strange and unjustified manner.
In her comment, the citizen condemned the assault, especially since the boy did not show any misconduct and maybe he mistakenly opened the rear door of the school bus. “This raises doubt on the quality of services offered to our students, particularly those who resorted to school buses due to overcrowding and lack of time,” the citizen added.
In addition, Al-Qabas daily has reported that a few hours after the video clip went viral, the securitymen, with instructions from acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, arrested the supervisor who turned out to be an Indian working for a private school and the schoolboy is said to be of special needs.
A security source disclosed the securitymen tracked down the vehicle’s plate number, identified its location and seized it.
The Indian supervisor and school bus driver were referred to the police station and they were interrogated to establish the circumstances of the incident until late hours last night
