SME visa can be transferred after 1 year

KUWAIT CITY, April 7: Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Abdullah Al-Salman has issued a ministerial decree to permit the transfer and movement of manpower among small and medium enterprises after one year of the issuance of the work permit instead of three years, reports Al-Qabas daily. The decision stipulated the approval of the employer, and the same conditions and controls applied in ministerial resolution No. 9/2016 regarding work controls for owners of small and medium enterprises. Dr Al-Salman took such a decision after reviewing the state’s precautionary measures to confront the COVID-19 crisis, and its impact on the labor market. The Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower Ahmed Al-Mousa had made a presentation to Dr Al-Salman regarding this matter in order for the latter to take such a decision, which was in the public interest.
