IS slams Kuwait confab; ‘No militias entering country’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant or the so-called DAESH has criticized the conference which was held last Saturday in Kuwait under the title ‘The correct understanding of the Sunnis and its impact in the prevention of extremism’, reports Al-Rai daily. The conference was attended by representatives from 25 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Mauritania, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Mali, and Nigeria. The conference was chaired by the Grand Mufti of Mauritania Ahmad Al-Murabit. He stressed on the need to unite Muslims and warned against extremism in all its forms and organizations.

‘No militias’: A senior security source has brushed aside reports that Shiite militias are preparing to enter Kuwait in response to video clips which have been circulated in the social media, reports Al-Shahed daily. The video clips particularly singled out the border post near Abdali. The source explained these militias do not exist and that everything that is being said is just a rumor which coincides with the establishment of rest places in Kuwait for Shiites who are heading for the holy places in Iraq. The source added the Kuwait army and the intelligence agencies are fully prepared for any disturbances along the border
