‘Sheikh’ title only for official Al-Sabah family tree

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has circulated a letter from the Amiri Diwan to all ministers containing a list of persons who are not entitled to carry the title of ‘Sheikh’ – member of the ruling family, reports Al- Rai daily. The circular comes in implementation of the Amiri order which was issued in May 2017 to recognize and arrange the Al-Sabah family tree and consider it the ‘official Al-Sabah family tree’ and a reference for lineage.
