Settle telephone line bills due or face disconnection – MoC; PAHW to halt disbursement of rent allowance to 4,000 citizens

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: Ministry of Communications has appealed to defaulting telephone subscribers to pay their arrears, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry disclosed its intention to set off the programmed disconnection in the course of the month upon activating the first SMS warning coming Sunday followed by a second warning.

Meanwhile, Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) will suspend the disbursement of rent allowance to some 4,000 citizens who received housing allocations under the new projects, alongside those updating their data, reports Al- Qabas daily.

In a recent statement by PAHW, which Al-Qabas obtained a copy, a sum of KD 610,200 is paid in housing allowance to citizens, while KD 222,424,440 has since been disbursed to the existent housing applicants.
