KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: : Some Saudi newspapers have declared Monday, Sept 12 as the first day of Eid Al-Adha based on astronomical calculations. On the other hand, Department of Astronomy Sciences and Space at Kuwait Science Club revealed few days ago that Sunday, Sept 11 is expected to be the first day of Eid Al-Adha, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Quoting the Islamic Project for Monitoring Crescents, the Riyadh newspaper reported that all Islamic countries will sight the crescent of Zul- Hijja month on Thursday, Sept 1, stressing that solar eclipse will be witnessed on that day.
The newspaper also reported that Monday, Sept 11 will be the first day of Eid Al-Adha and the total number of Eid holidays will be nine days. Meanwhile, Ministry of Civil Service in Saudi Arabia declared that Eid holidays will be for 12 days.
