Securitymen seize liquor bottles from Indian man; Court acquits Bedoun of consuming drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Capital securitymen arrested an Indian man for the possession of several bottles of local liquor in Bneid Al-Gar. The officers got suspicious when they noticed the man standing behind a car that was parked in a yard as he tried to run away after sensing police presence. He was arrested when the officers found six cartons and 74 bottles of local liquor.

Court acquits Bedoun: he Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Othman, acquitted a Bedoun of consuming drugs. Earlier, the court sentenced the accused to five years in prison in absentia and allowed him to post bail of KD 1,000. Case files indicate the defendant was charged with consuming morphine and another narcotic substance. His lawyer, Attorney Saoud Al- Shimmari, demanded for his acquittal due to the absence of incriminating evidence and questionable arrest procedures.

Grocer stabbed, robbed: A Bedoun and a Syrian were arrested for stealing money from a grocery shop in Farwaniya area after attacking the Asian salesman with a cleaver and stabbing him on his back and shoulder, reports Al-Shahed daily. The suspects have been referred to concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
