Security preparations for stadium opening mulled over

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8: Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah presided over the meeting on security preparations for the inauguration of Jaber International Sports Stadium, with the attendance of State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and acting Minister of Electricity and Water Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al- Fahd, undersecretaries and representatives of the Health Ministry, Kuwait Fire Service Directorate and Amiri Guard.

In a press statement, the Interior Ministry revealed that Sheikh Al- Khalid conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the higher political leadership during the meeting. He briefed the officials on the security plan laid down by the Interior Ministry, in cooperation with other concerned authorities, to guarantee the safety of everyone during such an important sports event. He also extended appreciation to the security systems which are putting forth tremendous efforts to provide security at the event, while giving his directives and comments on certain points to ensure successful implementation of the plan.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Al-Abdullah expressed appreciation for the diligent efforts exerted by the security systems, particularly during big events. He stressed the need to bolster cooperation among all concerned authorities for the success of such a great sports event that is considered a giant leap in the field of modern sports installations around the world.
