Security intensified in ‘crime-prone’ regions

KUWAIT CITY, July 5: The security sources told Al- Seyassah daily that the Interior Ministry has intensified security presence in all areas, hamlets, chalets and stables (farms) to arrest persons wanted by law and outlaws, saying the security campaigns happen particularly during the night to reduce the number of crimes, thefts, quarrels and other problems that some areas usually witness. The sources said instructions have been issued by the senior officials in the Ministry of Interior to the personnel working in the ‘field sector’ to take all precautions while apprehending outlaws, particularly those who resist arrest and attempt to escape.

In a related context, the Ministry announced the Public Security Sector, during the past week dealt with 2,384 reports and set up 227 security checkpoints which resulted in the arrest of 321 people, including 26 wanted criminals, 62 civilians wanted by law for various reasons, 8 reported absconding, and 48 violators of the residence law and 112 for holding no identification 65 for possessing narcotics or alcohol. The sources pointed out the security sector also seized 33 vehicles wanted for various reasons, issued 1,152 traffic citations and 11 for parking in places reserved for the physically handicapped people.
