Screaming colleague averts ‘date-rape’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: An Egyptian woman lodged a case at Maidan Hawally Police Station against her compatriot colleague for attempting to rape her during a dinner inside a restaurant at Hawally area, reports Al-Rai daily. Reportedly, the suspect had invited the woman for dinner at a restaurant and the latter had accepted graciously.

They both occupied a family cabin for privacy, but the man started making immoral passes at the woman in a way that seemed like he was using a trick to get non-fiscal payment for the meal.

The complainant had warned him to behave well and respect her but he suddenly started touching her in an attempt to rape her. When she cried out for help, people rushed into the cabin to rescue her. This was when it dawned on the man that he had committed an offense and he took to his heels immediately. Securitymen took down his details and have launched investigations to find and arrest him.

1.25 kg ‘Ice’ with expat: An unidentified expatriate was arrested in possession of 1.25 kilograms of ‘Ice’ drug, reports Annahar daily. When officers from the Drug Control General Department received a tip-off about the suspect’s involvement in drug peddling, they monitored his activities until they confirmed the information. They secured a warrant of arrest from the concerned department and set him up with an undercover agent who agreed to purchase some drugs from the suspect. They arrested the suspect after the sale was complete and the marked currency was found on him. He was found in possession of 1.25 kilograms of ‘Ice’ drug and he was referred with the seized illicit substance to the concerned authority.
