KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: While the concerned authorities of the Ministry of Education are working on installing 2,200 new air-conditioning units in schools that suffer from a severe shortage of air-conditioning devices, the ministry is about to float a new tender to purchase 10,000 new air-conditioning units to be distributed to schools during the current academic year, reports Aljarida daily.

Informed educational sources revealed that the new tender is intended to fill the shortage and permanently eliminate air-conditioning malfunctions for a period of no less than the next five years.

They explained that the ministry is currently working on implementing the contract for the installation of 2,200 air conditioning units urgently, with 370 units for each educational area, in schools that suffer from major problems in air conditioning, as a partial and quick solution.

At the same time, the concerned authorities are working to quickly complete the procedures for offering a tender for purchasing, installing and maintenance of 10,000 new air conditioning units to be distributed to schools according to need, in order to fundamentally address the problem of air conditioning.

The tender for the new air conditioning units will be presented with the companies providing a warranty of five years, so that the companies that will be selected will undertake the supply, installation and maintenance of the units without the need for maintenance contracts. This procedure will solve the problem of air conditioning for the next five years.
