Saudi Arabia team celebrate on the podium after winning the 16th Gulf Men’s Basketball Championship held in Kuwait.

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2, (Agencies): The Saudi National Team emerged victorious in the 16th Gulf Basketball Championship for Men after defeating the host nation by a score of 92-83 in the final match played at Kuwait Sporting Club.

According to a press release, present during the match was a huge crowd of basketball fans led by the President of Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC) Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser and several associations’ officials and Gulf sports personalities.

The third place went to the Bahrain National Team who defeated their counterparts from the UAE by a score of 76-67.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday sent a cable to King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, congratulating him on Saudi team winning the 16th Gulf Men’s Basketball Championship held in Kuwait.

In the cable, His Highness the Amir hailed the splendid performance of the Saudi team and their high sports spirit, wishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia more progress and prosperity. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables to King Salman.
