KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The Saudi movie “Najd” won the grand prize in the second round of the Al Ain Film Festival as the best movie in the competition ‘The Long Gulf Falcon’, starring the big star Hayat Al-Fahd and Ibrahim Al-Harbi in addition to Zahra Al-Kharji, and Majid the singer Fawaz and others, and the award was received by Dr Hana Salem from Film production team, reports Al-Anba daily.

The festival, which was held from Jan 20 to 25 this year under the slogan ‘Cinema of the Future’, witnessed 65 films from the GCC countries and the Arab countries.

“Najd” is the first Saudi movie to be shown in the Kingdom after allowing cinemas to be activated in the country, and it is written by Khaled Al-Rajeh and directed by Samir Aref.

Meanwhile, news published by the Kuwaiti presenter Mai Al-Eidan on her Instagram account about the death of artiste Dana Abbas Al-Haidar came as a shock to the users of social media, reports Al-Shahed daily.

Many wondered about the reason behind the artiste’s sudden death. Some claimed that she had recently discovered she had Stage 4 cancer, but some others denied this claim, insisting that she suffered from blood clot and was admitted in the hospital few days before her death.

The daily stated that it has no details about the last moments of her life.

 Some people revealed that the deceased was a victim of bullying and was subjected to severe mocking throughout her life.

Furthermore, the artiste Rania Shehab hopes to make a move in 2020 and find the right husband and “spend with him for the rest of my life, as well as I hope for a shift at the professional level,” reports Al-Rai daily.

Shehab recently signed a contract to participate in drama series “As if nothing has happened”, written by Sahab and directed by Hussein Al-Halibi, and starring Zahra Arafat, Heba Al-Dari, Fahd Al-Abdul Mohsen, Nour Al-Sheikh, Shehab Hajia, Khaled Al-Shaer, Muhammad Safar, Muhammad Al-Dosari and others. The serials are expected to be shown during the next Ramadan season.

Shehab revealed the features of the personality assigned to her by saying: “In (as if nothing happened), I will look at the viewers by embodying the personality of Intisar, a very loyal friend and sister who is afraid for the interest of her friend (Zahra Arafat), as she tries hard to keep her away from everything that is offensive and harmful to her. But on the other hand, Intisar is exposed to many situations and accusations that are so offensive because of that fear, and I am content with this amount of personality, which I see as full of events that escalate slowly, depending on the element of suspense.”

After announcing a number of its upcoming Ramadan projects, ‘Eagle Films’ company, producer Jamal Sinan, has started the latest preparations before launching filming of the series ‘One billion riyals’ in which ‘Eagle Films’ works in cooperation with ‘All Over’ by Khaled Al-Rifai, a project that will be filmed in Saudi Arabia within the next few days, to be telecast during the holy month of Ramadan, reports Al-Anba daily.

The comic work is composed of 30 episodes, and it will be directed by Asad Fuladkar, that touches Gulf societies, and raises many questions, while the answers come in the last episodes of the project, starring Haya Al-Shuaibi and some of the most prominent Gulf stars, including Ali Al-Hamidi, Abdul Majeed Al-Rahidi, Khaled al-Farraj, and others.

Furthermore, Ahmed Muqeem is one of the most outstanding artistes in the world. He has participated in several local and international exhibitions, and his paintings have been showcased in several vital utilities in Kuwait such as the painting of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince at the new terminal belonging to Kuwait Airways in Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Muqeem’s painting of the late actor Abdul Hussein Abdul Redha has been displayed at Abdul Hussein Abdul Redha Theater, and another of his painting will be displayed in Al-Salam Palace Museum in a few weeks.

A painting by artist Muqeem was displayed at Ankara International Airport for three months.
