KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Public Prosecution decided to detain Twitter user, Sarah Al-Durees, for a day to question her in relation to her posts on her Twitter account as these posts were deemed offensive to HH the Amir and his authority.

Sources disclosed Al-Durees turned herself to the police after the Public Prosecution issued a warrant to arrest her. She denied all the charges during the interrogation, sources added.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court sentenced a Saudi national working in the Justice Ministry to seven years in jail with hard labor for forging documents to acquire Kuwaiti citizenship. The court also obliged him to return KD 24,000 which he received illegally and fined him KD 48,000.

122 on new list: The Search and Investigation Department of the General Department of Nationality and Travel Documents has pre-pared a list of names of 122 people who are said to be holding dual citizenship, reports Al-Shahed daily. The list is expected to be submitted to the concerned authority to take a decision to withdraw their nationalities. Some of them are Yemenis, Qataris, Saudis, Iranians, and others are said to have acquired the nationality through fraud or forgery.
