Salaries of Laborers working for Ministry of Public Works not paid for 4-months

The laborers refuse to work as salaries for last four months are not paid

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: A number of laborers conducted a strike in front of the building of Ministry of Public Works to protest against the non-payment of their salaries for four months. These laborers are employees of a company that has been contracted by the ministry for maintenance services.

The laborers said they were given many promises by the incharge official in the ministry but to no avail. They had complained several times about the delay in the payment of their salaries but none of their complaints were given any consideration.

They revealed that a total of 40 laborers are negatively affected by this situation, especially since they have children and other responsibilities, and are burdened by the increase in the cost of commodities in the local market. The laborers said they hope their complaints will reach Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Housing Affairs Dr Jinan Boushahri so that their problems will be solved.
