Kuwaiti security personnel caught a runaway lion in Kabad region on Wednesday and handed the animal to the zoo, an official said
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti who is believed to be the keeper of the runaway lion which was caught by the police in Kabad last Wednesday and handed over to the zoo, reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source, the Kuwaiti is known for his hobby to breed wild animals which he has allegedly smuggled into the brought illegally. The same source said the suspect has denied owning the lion. When asked if the Ministry of Interior plans to raid suspect places where wild animals are believed to be kept as pets, the source said measures are being taken in this regard. At the time of controlling the lion by the security forces, the daily had said legal procedures will be taken against the owner because law forbids raising wild animals inside homes in Kuwait for they pose a threat to peoples’ safety.
