KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: Minister of Public Works, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr Amani Bouqmaz is currently studying the referral of employees, who have been in service for more than 32 years, for retirement, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed the ministry has prepared the list of employees with more than 32 years service period.

Sources said the ministry has also contacted the concerned authorities like the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) and Civil Service Commission (CSC) to complete the procedures for the retirement of these employees. Sources added the concerned ministry officials are currently setting a mechanism, in coordination with the CSC, to publish job advertisements to fill up vacant supervisory positions.

Sources stressed this is the most appropriate time for the retirement of all those who spent 32 years of service in supervisory positions in order to pump fresh blood into the ministry. On the other hand, sources told the daily that 3,700 out of 11,900 eligible employees in the Ministry of Electricity have finalized procedures to convert their unused leave days into cash.
