Resumption of praying in mosques in residential areas only, no Friday prayers in first stage

KUWAIT CITY, May 28: The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Advisor Dr. Fahd Al-Afasy, announced that the resumption of establishing group prayers in mosques will be in typical housing areas only and without Friday prayers in the first stage.

Al-Afasy told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that after the cabinet’s decision on Thursday evening to resume the holding of congregational prayer in the mosques during the first stage of the gradual return stages, the date of the appeal will be determined after completing the sterilization of the mosques in accordance with health requirements.

He explained that coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Defense was done to sterilize the mosques starting next Sunday with the continued suspension of congregational prayer in mosques.

Al-Afasy pointed out that regulations have been put in place to conduct group prayers in mosques according to health requirements and the fatwas of the Fatwa Commission of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and they will be announced in the coming days.(KUNA)
