‘Respect traffic laws and shun drugs’; minister lauds project

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled expressed satisfaction on the recent project launched to raise awareness among students on the dangers of drugs and traffic accidents, and the need to respect traffic rules and regulations. The project was launched in the presence of the Interior Ministry Undersecretary, and Director of public Relations and Security Media Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash.

In an address, Sheikh Mohammad stressed the importance of instilling positive attitude in students and intensifying traffic awareness and respect for law. He expressed satisfaction on the project launched by General Department of Public Relations and Media Information for this season. He was overjoyed with the involvement of the entire departments of the Interior Ministry in the project.

He met student representatives from different educational zones that participated in the event and responded to their questions and remarks. He said the awareness program is not limited to specific time or governorate, and that students should be informed about efforts exerted by different departments of the ministry to instill in them positive attitude.

He explained the growing rate of traffic accidents is a source of concern to the ministry and inculcating the right thoughts in students will help reduce the menace. For his part, Director General of Public Relations and Media Security Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash disclosed that the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah at the launch of the program is significant for the success of the project. He said the activities of the project will continue throughout the week.

However, prominence will be given to Thursdays. He noted the project is designed for students from both sexes starting from preparatory stages to secondary schools. He also said the project (theory and practical) will be extended to students in the primary stages as well as nurseries.
