Remittances double before total lockdown begins

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: The number of transactions of remittances has doubled during the past two days before Kuwait goes into total lockdown. 

According to the sources the majority of the transfers in past two days were made by individuals to their families so that ranging from KD 100 to KD 500.

The sources stated that the increase in number of transfers is due to 3 main reasons, namely announcing when the total ban comes into force in the coming hours, to meet the needs of families outside Kuwait for the rest of the month of Ramadan, and for the Eid period and partly due to ignorance of customers who are not aware of online transfers .

The sources pointed out that many local exchange companies will focus during the coming period on online transfer, as it supported its operations in this aspect doesnt need much manpower and can provide high levels of service.
