KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: The prices of air tickets to various countries increased in the past few days – up to 120 percent increase for some destinations – due to the high demand from citizens and expatriates who are planning to travel during the national holidays, reports Al-Jarida daily. Some travel agencies expect air ticket prices to increase gradually in the next few days until mid-March, while the price index will begin to gradually decline until prices return to what they were before the holiday.
A number of travel agency owners told the daily that the increase in ticket prices at this time is normal, attributing it to the law of supply and demand; especially since reservations have witnessed a significant increase in conjunction with the continuous decline in the number of coronavirus cases and assurance from officials that there is no intention to close Kuwait International Airport again.
