Q8Aviation signs TSA with KAFCO to service Kuwait Airport

LONDON, Sept 13: Kuwait Petroleum International – a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) – has announced that its aviation fuel affiliate, Q8Aviation, has been awarded a contract to provide technical services to Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company (KAFCO), Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s jet fuel affiliate, at Kuwait International Airport. According to a press release obtained by KUNA, this award formalizes the intention to enhance cooperation between the two subsidiary aviation companies within the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) group.

The agreement provides KAFCO with Q8Aviation’s broad range of technical services, including inspections of the refuelling operation at Kuwait International Airport, provision of technical documentation, training, and engineering consultancy. It demonstrates KPC’s strategic focus on synergy-driven integration between its subsidiaries and shows its successful efforts at optimization through comparative advantage and honing efficiencies.

KPI’s acting President and Chief Executive Officer, Waleed Al Ben Ali commented “There is a wealth of expertise throughout the KPC Group and immense value in sharing knowledge and experience between us. I congratulate KAFCO and Q8Aviation on this important agreement and believe it will be of great benefit to both companies. We in KPI look forward to further integration with our parent company, KPC, and its subsidiaries, so we can further integrate our supply chain and grow and our global business.” Marking the importance of the occasion, Naser Ben-Butain, General Manager Q8Aviation, signed the contract with Meshal Al-Tanaib, General Manager KAFCO in London.

Ben Butain said, “We are pleased to work in partnership with KAFCO. Through our closer working relationship, I envisage further opportunities will arise in future for mutual co-operation, especially considering Q8Aviation’s well-known record of technical expertise in the global jet fuel markets.” Kuwait Petroleum International is the international downstream subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Established in 1983, KPI operates over 4700 service stations across Europe under its brands, Q8, Q8Easy and Tango, and provides over 70 airlines with jet fuel in major airport hubs. It also runs two state-of-the-art lubricant blending plants in Belgium and Italy under the brand Q8Oils and owns shares in three joint venture refineries in Italy, Vietnam, and Oman. (KUNA)
