Prostitutes, clients held in raid – Over 100 illegals arrested in City raid

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: The Farwaniya police have arrested a number of prostitutes and 5 men following a raid on a vice den in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said patrolmen suspected an unidentified Asian and followed him until he entered a residential building. After police raided the apartment, they found three semi-naked Asian women and five men who had gone to seek flesh pleasure.

Over 100 illegals arrested in City raid
Officers from General Traffic Department led by Major General Fahad Al-Shuwaie held traffic campaigns in Salmi, Abdali, Subbiya and Kabad areas during which they issued 5,371 traffic citations, seized 325 vehicles, arrested 24 individuals including 17 juveniles and presented warnings to 308 individuals for violating traffic conditions related to towing vehicles.

According to security sources, these campaigns were aimed to ensure safety of road users and spread traffic awareness to the public. The arrested individuals included 17 juveniles and an expatriate who were arrested for driving without drivers’ license. The expatriate was referred to the concerned authorities for deportation.

Meanwhile, a number of surprise security campaigns were launched in Capital Governorate particularly in Mirqab area and Fahad Al-Salem Street during which 101 individuals were arrested. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, the campaigns were launched based on directives from Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah.

The arrested individuals included 15 who were caught gambling and had KD 425 with them, nine individuals who are wanted by law for criminal cases, seven individuals wanted for civil cases, 21 individuals who are reported as absconding, 19 violators of residency law and 30 hawkers
