KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: The Public Prosecution decided to detain the DAESH hacker, who was accused of joining the group and recruiting people as members of the group, in the Central Prison for 21 days. The suspect confessed to the prosecution chief that he is a member of the group and he encouraged other people to join it. He was charged with traveling out of the country to fight against a foreign government, which could strain the relationship of Kuwait with the concerned country. He was also accused of recruiting people to join DAESH with the primary intention of attacking the authority in Kuwait. He was fully aware of his action while he contributed financially to the activities of the group.

Fuel hike case: The Administrative Court will look into the fast track case filed by Lawyer Nawaf Al-Fezai on the behalf of a Kuwaiti citizen who called for cancellation of the relevant decision issued by government to increase fuel prices. Al-Fezai called for enforcement of the decision to be suspended as a matter of urgency pending the final court decision in that regard. He stressed that fuel is part of the national wealth, as the resource belongs to the State and its citizens. He pointed out that Government does not have the right to interfere in the pricing of fuel, according to administrative decisions and the Constitution. Therefore, the decision of raising fuel price contradicts the Kuwaiti Constitution and threatens public security and peace, noting the financial situation of his client is badly affected by the decision.

Case adjourned: The Criminal Court adjourned to Oct 31 the State Security case filed against three individuals who are accused of joining DAESH. The defendants include an officer of Ministry of Interior, his imprisoned friend and another individual who is presently on the run. The court had released the jailed suspect on bail worth KD 300 and imposed a travel ban on him. Ministry of Interior had arrested the officer and released him after interrogations. He confessed that he had knowledge of a terror plan to be carried in Kuwait and that his friend was hiding a gun, supplies and a DAESH flag. Instead of informing security authorities, he helped his friend by hiding the gun and flag. He also revealed that a GCC national had brought the flag to record a video in which they will declare about carrying out the terrorist act. Meanwhile, the same court adjourned to Oct 10 to the case filed against a 50-year-old Twitter user who is accused of posting false news and offending the Amiri entity on Twitter networking website.
